MFM Wants To Go Where Where No Players Have Gone Before
Music allows the artist the freedom to create without the restraints of spatial form. With only the pulse and rhythm of time and vibrations to create an expression that reflects what the artist is attempting to achieve, an advantage is available to explore a more unconstrained vision.
Mud From Marz, used the formulated punk concept of rebellion and anarchy as a launching pad to establish a collective, creative vision interdependent on the musicians involved and somewhat independent of conventional voicings.
“Somewhat independent of conventional voicings” because MFM wanted the sound to be original but also to draw on the power of established, bad ass, pulsating rock beats. MFM also had to work within the limits of their familiar instruments, guitars, drums, keyboards and a moog synthesizer. Within these established margins MFM took off, challenging the conventional, inspired by the searching spirit of the atonal jazzmasters of the sixties like Ornette Coleman, Sun Ra and Cecil Taylor.
