Siri, Experiment w/ Punk and Dissonance

Siri

Jazz, Dissonance, Punk

Sometimes when I must wake up quite early in the morning, I use the alarm clock. The alarm clock is set to our local jazz station. Lying in bed on one such awakening listening to jazz musicians experiment with various forms of dissonance made me wonder about compositional dissonance in punk.

The Siri project involves such experimentation. The underlying rhythm guitar, although fairly buried, offers a smooth, almost pleasurable discord. The synth part which is a bit more pronounced and “stand alone" challenges the listener directly.
